Marina Maxwell
Welcome to my site!
I'm mainly a writer of historical fiction set in the glory days of the British Empire although, as my alter egos Mary Maxwell and M. Maxwell, I have also written prize-winning short stories, poetry, social commentary, book reviews, and even dabbled in scripts.
My published books are:
"Land of the Long Grass", a blockbuster tale based on the amazing story of a white man who ruled over a vast area of Central Africa (Covos-Day Books) and -
"Time and a Legend", a spellbinding romantic novel of 1840's Australia featuring the charismatic infamous Scots entrepreneur, Benjamin Boyd (Sirène Enterprises)
"Her Fatal Touch" is now available for FREE for a time in PDF form for download, subject to the usual copyright restrictions and permissions.
It is also available for free at Obooko in PDF.
I am currently involved in research on some new projects which will be quite different from my previous work. More to be revealed at a later stage!
As "Regina of Arbeia" I have two historical blogs about little-known individuals or stories - "Digging the Dust" and "The History Bucket".
I was also an Associate Editor, Features, for the magazine Solander previously published by the Historical Novel Society and I currently review recently-published novels for the revamped Historical Novels Review.
Contact me with anything you'd like to know. I'd love to hear from you!
